I am Ruth Birkebaek, a Medical Doctor and a Psychotherapist. I am based in Kew which is ideal for access to M25, M4 and convenient for Richmond, Ealing, Kingston, Guildford, Sutton, Twickenham and the surrounding areas.

I successfully treat a wide range of issues including eating disorders, depression, anxiety, abuse, guilt, anger, family issues, marital problems, sleep problems, self esteem, addiction and stress management

I have many years experience as a plastic surgeon and psychotherapist and have a profound understanding of the relationship between the mind and the body. I am a member of BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), ITAA (International Transactional Analysis Association). I also work for the Cadogan Clinic in London.

How therapy works: We discuss your situation over the phone or via email and set up appointments as required. Sessions take place in a peaceful and secure environment. I also offer online sessions which you may prefer for convenience. I have a relational, talking approach; based on the ongoing relationship with my clients. It’s focused on the commitment to your well-being. The therapeutic relationship is unique, unlike any other relationship. It is being with someone who cares about you, respects you, shares your pain, celebrates your success, supporting your growth and healing.
My role as an experienced therapist is to offer you a psychological environment in which the relationship itself supports and encourages change, bringing to awareness the deeper unconscious elements that have remained unseen.
